Each client gets a folder of their own, and you can share one without opening the rest.

Consulting means keeping several small worlds apart, each with its own vocabulary, decisions and half-finished deliverable. In Jotura every client is a folder of Markdown notes and the documents they sent you. Tags cut across those folders when you need them to, and a single folder can be shared with a colleague while the rest of your vault stays private.

How it goes in practice.

  1. Set up the folder

Give each client a folder for meeting notes, the documents they sent, decisions and the deliverable in progress.

  2. Record decisions

Write each decision as a short note with the reason and the date, and tag it #decision to list them across every client.

  3. Share the engagement

Share the client's folder with a colleague as an editor, or with the client as a viewer. It is encrypted to the people you invite, and edits made at the same time merge.

  4. Pick it up again

After two weeks away, read the decision notes and the history of the deliverable to see where things stand.

What helps along the way.

  • Each engagement is an ordinary folder you can hand over, archive or delete when the work ends.
  • Sharing one folder leaves the rest of your vault private. Everyone on a share needs Jotura Sync.
  • Version history keeps three years of every synced note, so last month's draft of the deliverable is still there.
  • The Tags pane lists every tag with a count and the notes that carry it.
  • Nothing about a client leaves your machine unless you turn sync on, or choose OpenAI for search by meaning.
