Your notes app, now readable by your AI tools.
Jotura is a notes app first. If you also use an AI assistant such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI or Copilot, it can read and update your notes, remember what you decided last time and pick up where you left off. Everything it changes appears in the app as you watch.

What your AI can do with your notes.
Your notes are plain files on your own computer, and Jotura teaches your AI how to work with them carefully.
- It starts each session knowing what you decided.
- At the start of a session your AI reads your conventions, the decisions that still stand and the loose ends nobody has closed. The Jotura skill has it run one command to fetch them before it starts work. You stop pasting yesterday's context into every session.
- It can read and update your notes.
- Ask it to summarise a client's meeting notes, bring a plan up to date or file a pile of loose notes into the right folders. It can read the PDFs and Word files in your vault too, and whatever it writes is an ordinary note.
- Every change shows up in the app.
- An edit appears in the open note, the file tree and search within a second. The skill tells it to move notes it removes to the trash, and with Jotura Sync every earlier version is kept for three years, so any change can be rolled back.
- You choose what it can touch.
- Your AI works inside the permission prompts you already use in Claude Code or Codex, and it opens only the notes a task needs. Your AI provider sees what your AI sends, and your sync password stays on your devices.
- Your agent files stay yours.
- Installing Jotura leaves your AI tools as they were. Write your instruction files however you like. The Jotura skills come from a plugin marketplace like any other skill, and the app never edits your agent's config.
- It works with the AI tools you already use.
- Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode are supported from the start. Jotura has no chatbot of its own, so you keep the assistant you chose and the subscription you already pay for.
Ask in ordinary words.
You type requests wherever you already talk to your AI, and it finds the notes, reads them and does the work.
- What did I decide about pricing, and why?
- Summarise every meeting note from this client, oldest first.
- Update the migration plan with what changed this week.
- Read these six PDFs and start me a brief.
- File these scattered notes into the right folders.
- Tick off everything in today's note that I finished.
A memory you can open and read.
Decisions, facts about your work and open follow-ups are kept as ordinary notes in your vault. Your AI checks them before it suggests an approach and adds to them as it works, so a question you settled in March stays settled in June.
- Open any memory in the app and correct it. Delete one and your AI forgets it.
- When a new decision replaces an old one, the old note is marked as replaced, so you can see what changed.
- Every AI tool shares the same memory, so switching tools keeps what the last one learned.
- Memory holds decisions, facts and loose ends about your work, and nothing that profiles you as a person.
Your own writing comes first.
Your AI edits notes through a small tool that comes with Jotura. Before any edit lands, the tool checks the note still matches what your AI read. If you changed it in the meantime, the edit stops and your words stay where you left them.
Set it up in a minute.
Download Jotura, then add the Jotura skills to your AI. In Claude Code that takes two commands, /plugin marketplace add adamrichardson14/jotura-agents and /plugin install jotura@jotura-agents. The next session will know how to use your notes.
The technical reference covers the command-line tool, every command and how to add the skills to Codex, Gemini CLI and other agents. For everything else Jotura does, see the features page.
